Freaky Friday Horror Prompts #006

Each fortnight I’ll be posting a series of prompts for stories that I’d like to see but not had the time to write myself. If you take any of these ideas and create a story out of them, please feel free to post the link in the comments below! I’ll promote my favourite stories in the next edition of Freaky Friday Horror Prompts.

PROMPTS #006

  • There’s a shadow in the distance that’s getting closer each night. Finally it gets close enough for you to see what it is…
  • Your grandmother left you her house when she died for a reason. You’re the only one she trusts to keep what’s locked in the basement down there forever. But curiosity gets the better of you, and one day you succumb and open the door…
  • While out on a walk you smell something foul, like the rotting flesh of a dead body. Only it’s not flesh; it’s a flower, and you soon discover why it lets off such an awful smell…
  • The neighbours have boarded up the room on their top floor facing your house. All of their children have moved out of home, but at the same time each night you hear scratching on the wood. One night a piece finally breaks off, and you realise why it was boarded…
  • It comes with the fog, but it’s not a monster. It’s the fog itself, and the only way to avoid it is to stay indoors. At least, that’s what they want you to believe…
